A Golfer's Dream Holiday on Ireland's Dingle Peninsula Itinerary

A Golfer’s Dream Holiday on Ireland’s Dingle Peninsula

3, 5 or 7 Days Golf on and from the most Westerly Peninsula of Europe

FÁILTE

Experience a Links Golf Vacation / Holiday on the most Westerly Peninsula of Ireland and Europe.

The Dingle Peninsula's only 18-hole links course ~ Ceann Sibéal Golf Links, Ballyferriter, County Kerry Dingle Links – Perfect Irish Golf Vacation at Ceann Sibeal, Ballyferriter, Kerry, is located 14 km from Dingle town, on the Wild Atlantic Way, and is carved from the natural landscape in one of Ireland’s most scenic locations. Ceann Sibéal Golf Links is ranked as one of Ireland’s Top 100, beautiful 18-hole courses. Every hole is full of undulations and swales, with hazards laid down long before the game of golf was thought of, including a winding stream that meanders through the entire course.

This 3-day itinerary will allow you to see some of the most famous and interesting sites and get a brief introduction to the wonders that the Dingle Peninsula can bestow.  We recommend a minimum 3–5-night stay to really enjoy and you won’t leave disappointed. We recommend that you book accommodation, activities, attractions and dining in advance to avoid disappointment. To note: when entering any village in the Gaeltacht, the Irish (Gaelic) word comes first and English second) – the map below is bi-lingual and will help you on your way.

DAY 1 – Spend the day in Baile an Fheirtéaraigh / Ballyferriter

Play 18 holes on one of Ireland's Top 100 courses at Dingle Golf Links, Ceann Sibéal.  A natural links, every hole is full of undulations and swales, with hazards laid down long before the game of golf was thought of. Soak in the views, (and maybe a pint), from our award-winning restaurant before or after your game of golf.  "A delight to play, such a natural links in a beautiful place." Ronan Rafferty PGA.

  • Be aware of traffic if walking on roads.
  • Don’t rush, take breaks, and most importantly enjoy yourself!

Please Remember to Leave no trace. If you bring it with you, bring it with you back! Leave No Trace is an outdoor ethics programme designed to promote and inspire responsible outdoor recreation through education, research and partnerships - Leave No Trace (dingle-peninsula.ie).

DISTANCE** - Remember always left-hand drive on Irish roads. Allow yourself sufficient driving time due to the mountainous terrain and beautifully narrow roads here on the Dingle Peninsula. • Dooks Golf Links is located along the Ring of Kerry and if you would like to take in some sights either to or from your round, there are a number of shortened routes you can take between Killarney and Dooks. Rossbeigh, one of Ireland’s finest beaches, is located a short drive from Dooks. If an insight into Ireland in the 18th century would be of interest, a visit to the Bog Village is a must, only 5 minutes from Dooks Golf Links, the village gives you a fascinating insight into how people lived and worked in Ireland in the 18th Century. The village is the only one of its kind in Europe and is one of Kerry’s leading tourist attractions.

Star Wars Ballyferriter Itinerary

In the small village of Ballyferriter, an epic event happened! In 2016 Lucas Film Ltd. arrived to start filming Episode VIII, The Last Jedi and continue the story of Luke and Rey on Ach-To. This headland called Ceann Sibeál was the perfect place to recreate the monastic settlement of Skellig Michael, featured at the end of Episode VII, The Force Awakens.

Dingle Peninsula

“You must feel the Force around you, here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes”

Yoda Quote

Come and immerse yourself in our landscape..... and feel the Force

Home of stunning seascapes, islands and cliff backdrops, this part of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, on the Dingle Peninsula, has been a place of pilgrimage for centuries – a place of quiet contemplation, a connection with nature and the elements, a sanctuary worthy of a Jedi.

This part of Ireland is called a Gaeltacht, a stronghold of the ancient Irish Language, with a localised dialect. Its unique beauty and sounds and its famed Blasket Island literature will make your quest to visit this mystical part of Ireland, more magical and rewarding.
