Blasket Island Ferries

Passenger ferries operate from the mainland to the Great Blasket Island during the Spring, Summer and Autumn, weather permitting. Ferries may be boarded at the Marina in Dingle Town (a 40 minute trip), at Ventry or at Dún Chaoin Pier opposite the island (20 minutes).

Public Transport between Dingle and Kerry Airport

Bus Éireann provide a public bus service from a terminal outside the airport. Passengers for Dingle should board the bus to Tralee Bus Station. At Tralee, change to the 275 service to Dingle.

Regardless of the airline you fly with, we will collect you at any time from the airport and take you to your destination. This cab sharing service is designed to reduce the cost of travelling to and from the Dingle Peninsula.

Cork Airport is approximately 160 km / 100 miles from Dingle town, about 2 1/2 hours drive

Rail and Bus Services

Public Transport on the Dingle Peninsula

Getting to the Dingle Peninsula

In order to reach the Dingle Peninsula by public transport it is necessary to travel to Tralee, the largest town and administrative centre of County Kerry. Tralee is about 31 miles/50 kilometres from Dingle town. Rail services operated by Iarnród Éireann and long distance Expressway bus services operated by Bus Éireann both terminate at Tralee Station, from where a local bus service runs to Dingle.

Go Coach

GoCoach is a new service which operates a Dingle to Killarney bus service two times each day from April to October serving Dingle, Lispole, Annascaul, Inch Beach, Boulteens, Castlemaine, Milltown, Aghadoe, and Killarney.

Hackney Cabs

Hackneys, often referred to as "cabs", are small public service vehicles licenced by the Taxi Regulation Directorate of the National Transport Authority. There are no taxis or taxi ranks in the peninsula.

Hackneys: Must be pre-booked (may not be hailed on the street or stand for hire at a taxi rank); Must agree the fare to be charged in advance (the fare is not calculated on a taximeter;) Must, from the time of receipt of the notification of the hire to its completion, carry a document in the vehicle showing the details of the booking (name of hirer, starting point and destination, fare agreed) Must provide a written receipt containing specific information on payment of the fare
