There are many sessions open to visitors and one of the aims of the school is to make Irish music as accessible as possible. Instead of just buying a tin whistle or bodhrán as a souvenir you can actually learn how to start playing these typical Irish instruments even if you have an hour or two to spare. Scoil Cheoil an Earraigh Ballyferriter Baile an Fheirtéaraigh 17 - 21 February / Feabhra 2010 Scoil Cheoil an Earraigh is a traditional music school which, over a period of five days, concentrates on the style of music and song traditional to the Dingle Peninsula gaeltacht of Corca Dhuibhne. The school encourages those who wish to learn about the West Kerry style of music, song and dance, wherever in the world they come from, and gives people the opportunity to taste the unique wealth and breadth of the musical tradition handed down from generation to generation. If you feel like listening, or picking up a tune, a song or a dance in the West Kerry Gaeltacht, you’re more than welcome to join us! |

The Blasket Islands School of Art Scoil Ealaíona na mBlascaodaí Dún Chaoin Co. Chiarraí The school lies in a setting of natural beauty where green hills dotted with wildflowers and ancient stone beehives curve to dramatic cliffs that meet the sea provides ample inspiration and support for the days of challenging work. From the dawns over the mountains to the spectacular sunsets in the western sky, both landscape and seascape are bathed in veils of supple and ever-changing colour and light. The painting weekends, under the guidance of experienced tutors are suitable for both the novice and the more experienced artist. During the art therapy weekends, participants, with the guidance of a trained art therapist, through personal imagery learn the art of emotional and spiritual expression.
